utica square residence

Installed Fall 2025

Adjacent to one of the most heavily trafficked retail shopping centers in Tulsa, the gardens at this residence will serve as a highly visible example of how ecological plantings can benefit an entire neighborhood. With few restrictions, the goal of this garden was to use native prairie-style plantings to welcome all kinds of wildlife, and invite the surrounding community to appreciate the beauty of plants through the seasons.

In the front yard, nearly 1500 square feet of lawn was removed and replaced with mostly tallgrass prairie species, relying heavily on several different grasses throughout the design. The back yard transitions into a woodland planting to accompany the mature flowering dogwood, maple, and crape myrtles that already existed on site.

Planting assistance from Jasmine Bostick of Prosper, and All Tomorrow’s Prairies.
