Davenport Lofts
“One of the most enviable amenities at Davenport Lofts is located 130 feet off the ground. Our rooftop space features 7,000 square feet of visual bliss designed purely for your enjoyment… This is the space where community happens.”

The Davenport Lofts is a luxury apartment building situated in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District, just south of the historic Cain’s Ballroom. In 2023, I was asked to create a planting design for the existing raised beds on the tenth floor rooftop terrace, Club Ten. This would be a common space for the residents of Davenport Lofts to enjoy year-round. I directed the installation in Fall 2023, with planting assistance from the residents of Davenport Lofts as a community-building event.
Winter Storm Mara hit in January 2024, bringing devastating accumulations of ice and bitterly cold wind chills. Some plant losses from this storm opened up new opportunities to further diversify the landscape, and a supplemental planting was done in Fall 2024.
Approximately 75% of these plants are native to Oklahoma, providing critical habitat for local pollinators and wildlife where it would otherwise be difficult to find in a downtown setting. Designed as a garden of contrasts, it features endless vignettes of the various flower forms and foliage textures that can be appreciated all 12 months of the year.
I manage these plantings on a monthly basis, monitoring for plant health and irrigation needs, curating garden views, and planning for the long-term success and beauty of this unique downtown garden.
